When it comes to nursing bras, finding the perfect fit isn’t easy for many new moms. You want the support and style you get from your standard bras, but now have new needs such as soft cups for your sensitive breasts and clasps that unclip easily to breastfeed or pump. New moms often struggle when finding the essential nursing bra: the perfect combination of comfort, functionality, support and of course, style.
We believe that when you find a bra that fits perfectly, you will feel instant comfort. Bravado has been working with new moms for over 20 years and understands what a difference it makes to be comfortable post-pregnancy. So now that you are returning to work, it’s time to set yourself up for success with the very best nursing bra.
Step 1: Fit
Let’s start by helping you find your perfect fit. Before beginning, put on a non-padded bra that reflects your true shape and have a pen and paper ready. You only need two things: a measuring tape and mirror.
First, wrap the measuring tape around your back and underneath your armpits. Check that the tape is on a bit of an upward angle and positioned directly under your armpit. The tape should lie flat and parallel to the hook and eye closure of your bra. Pull the tape snug—you want it to feel tight, but not constricting. Read the measurement without removing the tape, and write down the number.
Next, wrap the measuring tape around your back and place it on top of the fullest part of your chest. Be sure to push the measuring tape in between the center of your breasts (it should be touching the space between your breasts). Check that the tape is horizontal when wrapped around your body. The tape should be lying flat and parallel on the hook and eye closure of your bra. Hold the tape loosely in place. Look down and read the measurement, then write it down.
Now take those two numbers and plug them into Bravado Designs online bra size calculator. We will calculate your perfect fit. It’s that easy!
Step 2: Plan
Buying any bra can be challenging, but with all of the changes that come post-pregnancy, buying a nursing bra can seem downright confusing! Before shopping, decide what you’re looking for. The bra style that will work best depends on your personal style. How many bras do you need? Most women like at least three: one to wear, one for the wash and one as a backup (babies are messy geniuses!). Bravado has a wide variety of comfortable, high-quality and innovative bras to suit your style and stage that are tested and approved by moms, so once you know what you want, you’re ready to shop!
Step 3: Find
